Sebitar-سبيطار: A Medical Translation Tool for Algerian Dialect
Sebitar-سبيطار is a free Android application developed by LeSouk for the medical community. The application aims to provide medical students and healthcare practitioners with a translation tool for medical terms in the Algerian dialect (darja), French, classical Arabic, and English. The application is the result of several weeks of work by the Association of Medical Students and Young Doctors - LeSouk Constantine - through its SCOME committee (Medical Education).
At present, the application's term catalogue is limited to the Constantine accent. Still, the developers plan to update it with time based on users' contributions. The application is specifically designed to facilitate communication between healthcare practitioners and patients who speak Algerian dialect. The interface is user-friendly, and the application is easy to navigate.
